Site Selection and Acquisition
A leading data centre operator was planning expansion into two new metros. To do this it was necessary for them to identify options for development sites and to build local partnerships.
Level 0 was retained to run an end-to-end process (within the target country) to identify and secure land in two key metros.
Level 0 has executed similar site selection and acquisition projects on behalf of customers in Portugal, Poland, UAE, Indonesia, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia.
How Level 0 engaged
Level 0:
- Used its local network to identify all major land owners in the target metros and to assemble a long-list of suitable development sites.
- Each site was assessed including the plot and its location, the availability of power and fibre, ground conditions, observed risks, observed construction and operations hurdles, and the surrounding area and so on.
- Presented findings and recommendations were to the client's senior management team.
- Completed commercial negotiationsfor development land and documented heads of terms prior to handing over execution to the client's inhouse team.
- In parallel a list of potential partners and construction firms was assembled and introductions were made to the client.
Outcomes
The client benefitted from:
- Securing options for land in two metros where traditional brokers and property advisory firms has failed.
- Rapid execution (weeks).
- Local market intelligence and on-the-ground experience.
- Actionable assessment reports for each site.
